Mindful Photography Walk: Mental Health Awareness Week
Saturday 16th May, 3pm - 4:30pm
Meeting Point: Forty Hall Museum Reception
Step away from the noise of everyday life and into a slower pace at this Mindful Photography Walk, created especially for Mental Health Awareness Week.
Led by a professional photography tutor, this relaxed walk invites you to reconnect with your surroundings through creative photography tasks designed to encourage mindfulness, curiosity, and calm. Along the way, you’ll be guided to notice small details, changing light, textures, and moments you might normally pass by.
There’s no pressure to perform or produce perfect images. Instead, you’ll have the chance to:
Enjoy gentle conversation or quiet reflection
Ask questions and learn simple photography techniques
Take part in optional creative prompts that focus on wellbeing
Meet others in a welcoming, supportive environment
No previous photography experience is needed, and smartphones are just as welcome as cameras. This is about slowing down, breathing, and seeing the world differently.
Whether you’re looking for a creative break, a new way to support your mental wellbeing, or simply some time outdoors, this walk offers space to pause and reconnect.
What to bring? A DSLR, mirrorless camera, or a smartphone. And don't forget to dress for the weather!
Tickets £35.00 per person
This is a 15+ workshop.
Please note:
This mindful photography walk will take place outdoors, allowing you to enjoy your surroundings at a gentle pace. Should it rain, the workshop will move indoors so the experience can continue comfortably.
