Beyond The Basics: Portraits Across Places at Forty Hall

Sunday 23rd August, 3pm - 4:30 pm

In this session you’ll learn how to make portraits that feel connected to place. Environmental portraiture is about photographing a person in their surroundings, using the setting to add context without distracting from the subject.

Working around Forty Hall Estate, you’ll explore simple ways to choose backgrounds, position your subject, and use available light to create portraits that feel natural and purposeful.

This workshop is ideal for photographers who want to move beyond basic portraits and create images with intention.

What to Bring:
• Camera (DSLR or mirrorless with control of manual settings)
• Enthusiasm and a willingness to experiment

Spaces are limited to allow for individual attention! Reserve your spot today and begin your photography journey with David Kearley.

Participants should bring a spare, fully charged battery for their camera and wear comfortable shoes and appropriate outdoor clothing.

Tickets £37 plus £1.50 booking fee

Participants should have a working knowledge of basic camera settings (aperture, shutter speed, and ISO)
